When submitting applications, I certify that I am the authorized agent of the applicant and affirm that the submitted information is true, correct and complete; and agree to comply with the provisions in the Building Code of the City of Springfield, and any other applicable ordinances, regulations and laws. I also certify that any proposed work is authorized by the Owner of Record and that I am the owner or have been authorized by the owner as the authorized agent, when applying for a permit or project.

The materials on this web site are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute a representation or warranty as to Springfield, Missouri's status, condition or performance or a commitment as to any matter disclosed on this web site. The City of Springfield is a public governmental body subject to Chapter 610 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri, commonly known as the Sunshine Law. If an appropriate request is made to this office for information that is subject to disclosure by the Sunshine Law, the State of Missouri will be required to disclose the information requested, even if it may include your personally identifiable information.
 
There are various locations on the City of Springfield websites where you may submit registration information. In order to complete your online transactions, we usually must collect information from you, including your e-mail address, your postal address or other pieces of personal information. Providing personal information on-line will always be your choice. The personal information that you supply will not be sold to others.
 
While you browse City of Springfield websites, we record the following information: your Internet service provider, date and time accessed, referring URL, browser type and operation system. This tracking system does not record information about individuals. This information is used to monitor traffic and improve this site. Linking Policy

The City of Springfield has adopted a policy on links from the City's web site that was upheld in the Putnam Pit, Inc. vs. City of Cookeville, Tennessee, ELECTRONIC CITATION: 2000 FED App. 0235P (6th Cir.). In this case the Court upheld a policy which limits links to those that promote the economic welfare, tourism, and industry of the city, as well as links to government and educational institutions.

Our policy reads:

The City will not permit a new electronic link from its web site except upon the following conditions, and only after the person has made written application to the City and the application has been approved by the Director of Public Information, based upon information in the application showing that the applicant meets the following criteria:

  1. The State of Missouri or the federal government or an agency thereof.
  2. A college or university in the State of Missouri funded with public funds
  3. A political subdivision of the State of Missouri which is located in whole or in part in the City of Springfield, Missouri or within 50 miles of the City
  4. A not-for-profit corporation organized under the laws of the State of Missouri which promotes the economic welfare, tourism and industry of the City.

Persons who have existing links which meet the above criteria may continue without being required to fill out an application. All other links shall be discontinued upon the adoption of this policy.

Use of City Logo

The City of Springfield's logos and images are registered service marks with the Missouri Secretary of State. Unauthorized use of protected images will be prosecuted. For permission to use an image, call 417-864-1010.

Use of Data

Any person, company or agency using data obtained from the City of Springfield’s open data systems must include the following disclaimer on the website, software application or other means of distributing this information.
